![]() On a positive note the management, IT and all the people who work at Yelp are all very nice! It’s a very all inclusive and accepting company. The unfortunate side is the draw pay is very low and commissions aren’t all that great either so it would be hard to gain good people without paying them better. They claim studies have been done and the script is what works but I find that hard to believe if they recruited better talent and trained sales skills rather then how to read from a page. Yelp requires even the most seasoned and experienced sales people to read from a very badly written script word for word. They are not teaching sales skills but instead sales script. I feel anyone who knows about Yelp would agree that it’s a horrible idea to put on a resume. The management with Yelp has been great and I loved working from home however there are really no transferable skills even for an entry level worker in my opinion to gain by working at Yelp. I have worked with Yelp now for a few weeks as an account executive in training (I believe that’s what they call it). We appreciate your hard work during your time at Yelp and wish you the best of luck in your next role! There are always new skills that can be picked up in the role, like negotiation, relationship building, communication, and resilience. Most folks find that when they stick to what they learn during their training, they can successfully connect with business owners to share the value and power of Yelp Advertising.ĪEs have a solid opportunity to create a long-term career in sales, and we support that growth with ongoing training and development along the way. Where we're different from other companies is in our training and curriculum, as well as the ongoing coaching and development that managers provide to their teams. Cold calling is not an easy role at any company, and that’s why we work hard to make sure you feel supported and valued. We know that the AE role is one of the tougher roles at Yelp, as you’re calling on many busy business owners. ![]() We're so glad that you found our perks, such as stock incentives, cash bonuses, 401(k) matching, and employer-paid insurance to name a few, to be of value during your time on our team! Thank you so much for sharing your thorough and honest feedback. ![]()
